Exploring Passion Through the Photographer’s Lens
The Obsessions series delves into the lives of individuals who dedicate themselves to both extraordinary and ordinary pursuits. One such individual is Amy Lee, a fire performer from Pantheatrix, whom I had the pleasure of photographing on a crisp winter evening near Boscombe Pier. Her performance was not just a display of skill but a testament to the dedication and passion she brings to her craft.
A Night of Fire and Photography
The shoot was both challenging and exhilarating. Working with off-camera flash in the open air presented unique hurdles, but it also pushed me to refine my technique and adapt to the dynamic environment. The result was a series of images that capture the intensity and beauty of fire performance under the night sky.

Get Involved, Get Photographed
Do you have an obsession that fuels your creativity? If you’re based in Dorset and have a passion you’d like to share, I’d love to hear from you. Your story could be the next to be featured in the Obsessions series.
The deal is that you get a free photoshoot with your choice of five fully edited digital images, and I would ask you to sign a model release allowing me to use the images for any forthcoming Obsessions exhibtions, and online in blog and social media posts. I get some great images to use, the chance to try out different techniques and ideas, and to meet some amazing people.
