Wedding photography at the beautiful Sopley Mill
Sopley Mill wedding venue for Katie and Greg
Sopley Mill Wedding venue is set in the beautiful Dorset countryside surrounded by views across the River Avon and the water meadows. And this is where Katie and Greg chose to get married on a beautiful day in late May. The sky was blue, the sun was shining, and Sopley Mill looked stunning.
Storytelling wedding photography
A blog can only ever show a fraction of the photographs taken, photographs that truly tell the story of the day, from Katie’s preparations at her mum’s home in Christchurch with her Matron of Honour, and her bridesmaid and of course her mum.
From there, I was off to Sopley Mill to catch up with the boys, the groom and his best man. capturing little details like his buttonhole, his socks and his Batman cufflinks – Katie drew the line with a Batman costume!
Following the events of the wedding day
Katie and Greg had their ceremony at Sopley Mill, a great idea which means there’s no traipsing off from one venue to another, with the possiblity of guests getting lost en route!
So following the regular routine, the ceremony was followed by drinks outside in the beautiful late spring sunshine, with some family and friends photographs, the “formals”, and then a few minutes photographing Katie and Greg, the “romantics”, and then off indoors for the wedding breakfast. I was next in action for the speeches, which is always a wonderful part of the day, with terrific opportunities for some very emotional storytelling photographs.
And into the reception
And the day progresses into early evening with more guest arriving and a beautiful First Dance.
And so my job, for the day, is done, apart from downloading and backing up all the images to keep them safe.
